It took some time for Toshiba to incorporate the Blu-ray standard in its notebooks, a result of backing the opposing HD-DVD standard during the format wars. As if making up for its tardiness, the Japanese maker has the honor of rolling out the third 3D notebook from a major vendor (behind Acer and Asus) in the market.

However, being in third place isn't enough for Toshiba. It's claiming that the Toshiba Satellite A665 is the first Blu-ray 3D notebook in the market. Hence, this may also be the only laptop equipped to play back 3D Blu-ray movies out-of-the-box.

This unit selling at the Singapore PC Show 2010 for S$3,099 (US$2,205.38). Like the Asus G51J-3D, the Toshiba Satellite A665 uses Nvidia 3D Vision technology and comes bundled with two sets of glasses, as well as the 3D version of Monsters vs. Aliens Blu-ray movie.
